PSD2 information

From 14 September 2019 the use of the password generating devices provided by CIB Bank will change in accordance with the European Union’s PSD2 Directive* (hereinafter: “PSD2”).

What is PSD2?

PSD2 is the European Union's second payment directive, which aims to increase the levels of consumer protection and, in particular, to promote competition and innovation in the field of financial services. In relation to the authentication of online payment operations, the PSD2 requires that the given online transaction be confirmed not just with a unique password, but with a safe password that consists of a unique code generated by the details of the given transaction.

To ensure that you can continue managing your daily finances through our electronic channels after 14 September 2019, please read the following information carefully!

What should I do if I use password-based authentication or a CIB MobileToken / Easy token / Token password generating device?

Access to CIB Internet Bank using only password-based authentication will cease, i.e. in the future you will not even be able to use our electronic channels for making queries.

If you have any of the above devices or use password identification, make sure you initiate the replacement of the device or request a device (to replace password identification).

From 14 September 2019, you will no longer be able to approve transactions initiated on electronic channels with your CIB mobilToken / Easy Token / Token password generating device, or to log in using password-based identification.
